Today I heard a man say that lack of ambition and hard work keeps wages low.
I’ve had the same job for three years. What does he mean?
I’ve worked my way up to a shift lead. What does he mean?
I attend university part time and pay out of pocket. What does he mean?
My hands are burnt and cut, my feet hurt and my back aches.
Yet I am told I am given a generous 50 cent raise. I should be grateful.
Meanwhile they raise the prices. I cannot afford to eat where I work most days.
