You know, I actually really like the family aspect of The Originals. You have shows about vampire families but this is the only one about a blood related family and an immortal family. The Vampire Diaries was pretty good about it too, Damon and Stefan really felt like siblings to me sometimes but The Originals seems to me to be more directly about family and I really like that angle on having an immortal family.
